Home services SEO
Help homeowners find the right service.
Home services SEO gets a plumber, electrician, roofer or other home-service business found when a homeowner nearby searches for the job, and named when they ask an AI assistant who to call. Each trade is searched differently, so below is what we fix first for each one, followed by an example of the first three months.
Plumbers
SEO for plumbers
Plumbing searches split into urgent and planned. "Burst pipe", "no hot water" and "drain backed up" come from someone who will call the first plumber who looks open. "Water heater replacement" is compared over days.
What we fix first:
- Separate pages for emergency repairs, drains, water heaters and installations, where you do that work.
- "Plumber" as the main Business Profile category, with extra categories only for services you really offer.
- Hours on the profile and the site that match when someone picks up the phone.
- Emergency or 24-hour wording only when a plumber can actually attend, not because a phone is answered overnight.
Electricians
SEO for electricians
Electrical searches sort by danger and by buyer. A sparking outlet or half the house without power is urgent. A panel upgrade, an EV charger or new lighting is planned and quoted. Commercial maintenance is a different buyer altogether.
What we fix first:
- A page for each planned service you want more of, saying what the quote depends on (for an EV charger, whether the panel has room).
- Residential and commercial enquiries routed separately, so a property manager does not land on a homeowner's form.
- Your licence number and qualifications shown as your team confirms them. We never write them for you.
- Safety advice on the site reviewed by a qualified person in your business before it goes live.
Roofers
SEO for roofers
Roofing demand arrives in bursts after storms, and much of it is an insurance claim. "Roof leak repair" is urgent. "Roof replacement cost" and the choice between metal and asphalt shingles are researched for weeks.
What we fix first:
- A replacement page that explains how your quote is built (measurements, material, tear-off, permits), because price is the first question.
- Project photos you own, with the town and the roof type, never the customer's address.
- A leak and storm page that says honestly how fast you can get there.
- "Roofing contractor" as the main Business Profile category, and a service area that matches where your crews work.
Other home services
The same approach works for cleaning, landscaping, pest control and property maintenance: one page per service that pays, a Business Profile that matches the site, and pages that answer the question the customer asks before calling.
Worked example
Example: the first three months for a four-person plumbing company
An illustration of how we would sequence the work. It is not a client result.
Month 1
Set the baseline: Search Console, the Google Maps position for searches like "plumber" and "drain cleaning" in your town, and what ChatGPT and Google's AI answers say when asked for a plumber nearby. Correct the Business Profile and make the name, phone and address match everywhere.
Month 2
Watch which searches show the business and which calls come in, and fix whatever stops pages from being indexed. Ask recent customers for reviews in a way you can repeat every week.
Month 3
Compare against the baseline: Maps position, calls and form enquiries. If the service pages are what holds the business back, that is the point to add pages.
Maintain, CA$420 a month. For this example we would suggest Maintain, which covers the monitoring, the Business Profile and the monthly report. Maintain does not write new pages; if the service pages need rewriting first, Growth adds a new or expanded page every month.
See what each plan includesShow useful evidence of your work
We help organise genuine project photographs, service descriptions and customer feedback that you are authorised to publish. Case studies should explain the job, your role and the outcome without inventing results. Where evidence is missing, we identify what to collect rather than substitute stock claims.
Make local pages worth visiting
A service area is more than a city keyword. Good local information can include the work accepted, travel limits, branch contact details and relevant projects. We review existing location pages for duplication and confusing coverage, and never use fake addresses or keyword-stuffed business names.
Connect discovery to a useful enquiry
Phone and enquiry options should work on mobile and fit your workflow. Forms can ask for the job type and area without forcing a long application. Conversion measurement should distinguish a button click from a successfully submitted enquiry.
See where you stand on the map.
When someone nearby searches for the work you do, Google often shows a map with a few businesses above the ordinary results. Which ones it picks depends largely on the Business Profile: whether it is claimed and links to your website, its category and hours, your reviews, and whether its phone number and address match the site.
The free check finds your listing, searches the map the way locals do in your town, and shows which businesses appear above you and what they have that you do not.
